Sun City

There was an old myth about the awakening of the moon queen and the sun king. The scroll foretold that when a new born baby is born in sun city than the wolf will howl across the horizon to signal the moon queen and sun king, and when they collide then they will forever become the son of the great stars.

The eagle perched. The jaguar stalked. The travellers trudged. The vultures soared.

Something miraculous was happening at Sun City, and all creatures great and small were gathering, waiting to see what the outcome of the moot would be,as the leader of sun city Kaiju who was as scary as a giant lizard, he  was walking towards the moot, everyone froze to silent, the moot begun. There was chatter among the crowd. Kaiju was leaving the moot, well he left there conversation.… To Be continued

The phone rang, startling me out of my sleep. I looked over at my alarm clock; it was twelve am. Who would call me this early in the morning? Why would anyone call me in the middle of the night? Is someone I love in the hospital? These questions flashed through my head before I picked up the phone. “Hello?” My sleepy voice croaked. I cleared my throat, waiting for a reply

“HAPPY THANKSGIVING!” A male voice yelled into the phone, startling me. It took me a second to figure out who was on the other line; it must be David that crazy man calls at twelve am for every holiday. “Thanks for busting my eardrum, it's not like I need my ears or anything” I said into the phone. I wasn’t in the mood for this; I’m tired and want to go back to sleep

“Do I hear a hint of sarcasm in your voice? Why are you so grumpy? It's thanksgiving; the only day of the year where it’s socially acceptable to stuff your face full of food.” David said into the phone, he sounded really excited. How could he be excited? It's way too early to be happy, let alone excited. “Go back to sleep, David. Call me at a reasonable hour and I’ll be excited with you. Please just let me sleep.” I begged. I was so tired I could feel my eyelids get heavier every second.

“Alice! How are you not excited? We love thanksgiving. Every year starting at twelve AM we watch all the batman movies ever made. “I’m hanging up sweet dreams.” I said. I know it was rude to cut him off mid sentence and hanging  up on him but, honestly I am too tired to care... Plus he was about to start ranting about thanksgiving, we would’ve been on the phone for hours if I hadn’t hung upon him. I drift back to sleep.

I don't dream I just sleep. For once my mind is at peace and I sleep well. I wake up to the doorbell ringing repeatedly. I roll over and look at the alarm clock it read one AM…  I only slept for an hour. I am assuming that David was the one ringing my doorbell like a little kid who just drank two monsters… I’m gonna kill him, that man knows that I value my sleep. I get up out of my warm bed and stalk over to the door. I yank it opened and David’s hand is midair...v to be continued...

The stolen Turtle

The stolen turtle

It was a Beautiful day and I have incubate out of my little egg it felt like I was finally free because of that 70 days living in my little egg.

So we were on our own to go and hunt for our own foods and my new life has started.

After 10 years surviving in the ocean I finally met my mother she was about 35 years old I was having the best time of my life being with my fellow turtles, till the worst nightmare begun The humans were fishing and taking photos of the underwater. But They were trying to catch turtles but they only caught one and that one was me.

I was so scared that they would sell me to somebody but instead they kept me as a pet I yelled out loud but no one would hear me. Till some gold fish came, and every week I always had company from different king of sea creatures that were taken away from home.

The next year the The tank was full of sea creatures so I said “I can’t have any space for me to stay and I really need to go up to have some air.

One day when I woke up I was in a truck and I did not know  what happened to me and that was happily ever after because I have my own Tank...To Be continued

Afghanistan Children

What I have been investigating is about the rights of the children in Afghanistan who are not privileged to go school.

What I found easy was doing my book cover perfectly the way I wanted it to go.

What I found hard was putting my effort into this hard work.

And what I found interesting was that a quarter of the Afghanistan children between ages 5 to 14 work  for a living or to help their families.

Isolated people

Graffiti debates

Is Graffiti art or messy  Vandalism?  Graffiti is both art and messy and I am going to tell you why it's both. Think about graffiti as art or messy Vandalism in my opinion I would say both,  and here are some of my reasons why.

Graffiti is against the law, Graffiti is ugly and bad, and people should not encourage it because children will look at it and start drawing all over walls and get into trouble. When you don't have permission to vandalize someone's property then you should NOT touch it and if you do you should rethink your actions because no matter how pretty it is, it's a crime.

It also depends on where it is and what it is Graffiti itself is a form of art, and can be beautiful to look at when in the city. However, graffiti on trains, train stations, buildings, and old architecture is a complete pain for whoever has to pay to remove it, and can be a sign of a lower income part of town.

Think of what the towns and cities would be like if there is no graffiti or street art, cities and public areas would be boring without the bright colours and imagination spread across the walls that we call graffiti. I understand that some graffiti works are rubbish, I mean the ones that are just scribbles and swear words and somebody's name written on walls without meaning or purpose, THAT IS VANDALISM.

To conclude  my statement Graffiti isn't bad if it isn't ruining anyone's property, it's a form of art where people can express their feelings and opinions without having anyone know who did it. All the colours and designs sometimes mean something too. If you think about it, graffiti is like a hidden message done by someone who wants to be heard in the world, but doesn't have the courage so they express it in art.

Did you know that petrol is also called crude oil I didn’t know that till now. Hello I’m Moni And I am going to tell you what happens if petroleum runs out tomorrow. According to the scientist and the Principle of our school, that in 55 years humans will no longer be able to have petroleum. So what would happen if there was no petrol tomorrow so that means everyone

If the world ran out of Petrol tomorrow, It would make human beings go back to the olden day stuff like growing your own food. Where would your number 1 and number 2 go when there is no pipes because you need pipes for the poo to go through it. I was thinking about something, so I wonder who will invent plastics  because if there is no petrol then there wouldn't be any plastics.

We would have to use our hands to make fire and we will have to stop being lazy. Did you know that Oil has been used by people over 5,000 years I did not know that till now, it was  once used as a medicine for treating ailments such as gout and frostbite(that happens to your legs or fingers).

It will also be good because the Ozone hole needs to repair itself because if it doesn't then the sea levels will rise and when Earth is covered with water, and when the sun shines through that hole and it makes the sea hotter, then we  we won’t be alive.

To conclude us people should try and stop relying on  cars because you will use too much petrol and when the petrol runs out there will be no more petrol.And so there you heard it from Moni Avia from St Bernadette's school.  ;{]

What found hard was Finding some information.

What I learned was that in 55 years Humans will no longer need petrol.

This position is to help the Tongan people, rebuild their lost homes due to sea levels rising. Build new water towers for fresh water, for planting crops and for drinking. Relocating  many of the homes near the sea  to further in land.

Building experience is the main quality for this position, 5 years of experience in the building industry. As this job is located in Tonga we will fly you back To New Zealand every six weeks. Accommodation and meals are free and an attractive remuneration goes with this position.

Preserving food

In our class we were told to write about preserving. What I enjoyed about this was putting in what I know about preserving food.

Also I learnt that People use cellars to use to put there food in to keep it cold.

We have been learning about showing not telling and we were told to make our own book, about a legend or our own legend and my story is based on a true story long time ago. 

I had fun making my own story and getting new Ideas from it, What I found hard was to try and use show not tell.

For three weeks our class has been making an Matariki animation to show what Matariki is. Me and my partner Nathan have been making one and this is it. 

It was hard to make the pictures and we had fun making the little stars.

As the old man limped away, from the figure of the wild, blood dripping. Till shadows raised upon the land with water dripping from above the sky. The man was so paralysis because of how much damage he had taken.When he was going for a walk to go to the river near the woods.

He retreated to his cabin and hid inside it.The water from outside that was falling from the sky made loud noises. Branches moving. Animals slithering around the cabin.Till The Door slammed open and the figure came inside and found him. A moment later the man heart stopped beating.

What is Mold ?

Have you ever wondered what mold is well molds are fungi that can be found both indoors and outdoors. No one knows how many species of fungi exist, but people reckon the range from tens of thousands to perhaps three hundred thousand or more. Molds grow best in warm, damp and spread and reproduce by making spores. Mold spores can survive harsh environmental conditions, such as dry place, that do not support normal mold growth.

What does mold do to Human body? Mycotoxins(Poison that could affect the human body and will kill them) are the bad health that could affect the human health.These health includes allergies or infections.Mold spores can enter the body by ingestion,They can also be observed into body by skin.

Did you know when a mold is on a food it will start to feed on it this is  because the mold will start to eat on and the mold will get bigger and bigger and that means it will get rotten and the piece of bread or cheese or other food will get smaller.

Molds are found Molds are found in virtually every environment and can be detected, both indoors and outdoors, year round. Mold growth is encouraged by warm and humid conditions. Outdoors they can be found in shady, damp areas or places where leaves or other vegetation is decomposing. Indoors they can be found where humidity(quality of being humid) levels are high, such as showers.

In my opinion people should be careful around mold because it could affect others and it won't be good

Two weeks passed and it happened again. Granger had been sitting calmly, letting his eyes rest over the novel he was working on this week, when he felt something run past his feet.

He was jolted awake, and on his feet in seconds, looking about the room in a frenzy. His eyes darted from corner to corner without seeing anything out of the ordinary, but he refused to admit that what he felt was a fragment of his imagination. Strange things had been happening in his new household occasionally; it was driving him crazy. He couldn’t keep living with these things, he had to stop them, or at least find out the cause.

A light, giggling-like noise made him fling himself to the ground directly behind him. He wrestled with the rug, his hands flying from spot to spot where he saw the lump in the rug fly. It circled him once or twice before making its way towards the opposite wall. He sprang back to his feet and grabbed for the chair he had been sitting in. The giggling sound continued, taunting him, causing his anger to flare up greater than before.“You little…” he seethed thrusting the chair at the bulge in the rug. As quick as it had been the last couple of times, it was unable to outrun the tumbling of the chair.

Granger, breathing heavily from the adrenaline, looked down at the unmoving figure in the floor. He stared for several minutes, unable to pull himself from the sight. So many thoughts were running through his head. The troubles he’d had over the past month or so, and that everything was soon to come to light. He reached slowly into his pocket as he dropped to his knees and made his way over to the limp figure under the rug. Without any thoughts but his curiosity, he thrust the pocket knife into the rug and slit a hole just big enough to slide his hand in and retrieved the tiny figure.

It appeared to be a tiny human girl, about the size of one’s hand, but her skin was a bright green, and from her back, two eraser sized wings protruded. They were transparent with a glittery tint to them, and as Granger pulled the creature closer to him they flicked back and forth.

“What are you?” Granger breathed, his voice failing him. He brought the girl to his face for closer inspection, but before he had the chance her eyes snapped open. A shriek rose from her mouth, as she began kicking and throwing her arms around wildly to try and break free from his grasp.“Let go of me!” her voice cried. She twisted and wiggled and flung herself in every direction. Finally she fell limp, exhausted and breathing heavily, and glared daggers at Granger. Her eyes were filled with hatred and fury unlike anyone else’s. “The devil wears glasses,” she sneered, her face contorting into the nastiest of expressions.

Worst Holiday dream

Worst Holiday dream

In the holidays I had the worst dream ever. It was on a Friday night and outside, it was nice and cold, and the moon glowed, pleasant and bright.That was at my place where I live with my family and I was the dreamer.

My dream was about something that was more of a nightmare to me. So I dreamt that It was on a Wednesday morning and I was in a strange place, where I received my injection. My dad took me there, he also told one of the workers that  my little brother could have his injection too. But Lui said  “no” So I actually had to have one on each shoulder.

On Wednesday, I had my appointment for the injection it was for real. I was very scared because I am afraid of needles but I had to get over it. After the injection we went home and my brothers had to do all my jobs while I slept and watched TV.

I wish they had never invented injections because I hate it and it hurts really bad.

WALT: use a correct structure for a recount.
As a class we all wrote a recount about one thing we did in the holidays and I wrote about my injection. I felt good a bout writing it and I want to do more of it on the chrome book.

It all started in 1914 it was a cold freezing morning and there were gunshots happening. I was a young boy that time, but suddenly something really dangerous was happening.

The guns were ready, they started blasting to their enemies while on the other side, I and my friend Freda were hiding in the trench. Freda was really confused about, the blasting and the crashes. While I and my friend Freda were there on the other side my best friend is blasting and trying to fight their enemies. But I was crying in tears to end the war and have victory upon our land.
